- Still looks like a Jeep. Better engine performance and handling. Safety.

nice ride - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By tom0629 - January 19 - 2:00 amI have had my Jeep for about a year now and although i have seen people on here dog them, i have been nothing but happy. I have almost 60000.00 on the jeep and still havent had to replace the brakes. The stereo is nice. My wife loves the heated leather seats. V8 has some good low end power. I had my friend look at the brakes and he says they look good.

My 3rd and Worst Jeep - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Chuckles1057 - January 14 - 2:00 amThis is my third top-of-the-line Jeep, and owning it has been my first bad experience with Jeep. I have spent about $1500 per year on non-warranty service. The brakes have to be redone at least every six months. Mechanical failures are too many to list. I love the look and feel of Jeeps, but this weekend I am trading it in for anything but a Jeep.

By skibum - January 14 - 2:00 amGreat vehicle except for the brakes/rotors. I brake very smoothly, yet I have to replace my rotors annually. I will look at other models next time if Jeep cant fix this simple problem.

By freak4stars - October 26 - 5:50 pmI bought my Jeep when it had 100k miles on it. My only complaint is the transfer case is tore up, therefore I lost my 4x4 capabilities. It doesnt get that good of gas mileage. However compared to other SUVs the same size it isnt too bad. I love the interior and it is extremely COMFY. I would recommend this vehicle to anybody!

Poor Quality Parts and Build - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jkim500 - October 15 - 10:00 amI was warned about the poor reliability but thought Id take a chance after reading about improved quality. HA! I was very unhappy with the cheap parts constantly breaking and TERRIBLE transmission. Two power windows went bad, the steering wheel radio controls got stuck, the power locks went bad and the arm rests cracked. Dealer was familiar with all of my problems. Transmission was extremely clunky: car would buck when switching from first to second; when I stepped on the gas after stopping, it would act like it was in neutral for a few seconds before making a loud clunk and lurching forward; dealer said this was normal!

By donutsapd - September 27 - 2:00 amit is a little "trucky", but, this is a solid, fun and rugged vehicle. For the dollar, Id put it ahead of any SUV in its class.
